Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the border from nearby Thailand, in which casino wagering is against the law. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This collection of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent location, a three to four hour drive from Bangkok and Macao, the two most popular gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a huge business with Thai blue-collar workers and travelers from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal income acquired from the gambling halls ranges from seven and a half million dollars to over 12.5 million, and there are a number of controls constraints for casino ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are vague. The borders are ceremoniously open from 09:00 to 17:00, and despite the fact visas are apparently required to pass, there are methods around this, as is correct of many borders.

The first Cambodia casinos premiered in Phnom Penh in 1994, but were required to close in the late nineties, leaving just a single casino in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored bateau casino, highlights 150 slot machine games and 60 tables. The Naga casino is open all hours with 42 tables of mini-baccarat, 4 tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and a single table each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling den in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are 150 slot machines and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four slots and sixty eight gaming tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 96 gaming tables, including eighty seven baccarat banque (the most dominant game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the familiar gaming tables, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machine games and ninety seven casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is is located in an all-inclusive vacation and hotel compound that contains numerous luxuries accompanying the casino, which contains ten thousand square feet of 130 slot machines and eighty eight gaming tables.
